First off-who doesn't like the name Eleanor...the name itself sucked me in and prompted me to email her. I had so many questions: where is this fabulous Eleanor from? How did you stumble across our blog? What is her story? I wanted to meet her but that will have to wait because she lives on the other side of the country-until then, we will hang out on facebook.

I love having a blog-because it's current- it shows my latest sessions and unlike a regular website, I get to share some great stories. I absolutely love reading the comments. Not just the comments about the images...but the auntie who lives so far away and can send her well wishes for the newly engaged couple. Or the grandma, who gets to view a little sneak peek at her newborn grandson's session. Or the friend who missed the wedding but could tell through the images what a great celebration it was! Love reading those comments.

Not everyone is comfortable in front of the camera and... I don't photograph models. My 'subjects' are real life people-real people getting married, having family sessions, having maternity and kids' sessions. I do my best to create a relaxed environment and it is a fabulous thing for my clients to check out their blog post...and read your encouraging words. And for a bride and Groom to view their 'love stories' and the warm wishes of congratulations.

What does any of this have to do with Eleanor... All Eleanor said was "Your photos capture how my mind enjoys life" This made my heart happy. And it made me think about the power that these heartened words had. She made my day. Really.

That's when our emails started... we've written back and forth and we've chatted about what inspires, defining your style, doing what you LOVE. Taking the time and showing kindness and giving.

So, in honour of Eleanor...who will receive a little thank you gift from NWP for her inspiring comments..we are featuring a "Say it like Eleanor" Contest. Every once in a while we will be sending a gift to one lucky blog reader that comments about the sessions I post. You'll receive a surprise email requesting your address and later in the week, check your mailbox for a small token of my appreciation for taking the time to visit the blog and for leaving some kindness... some "blog love".

we LOVE the name eleanor… that is my mum’s name and that is who we named our little sweet babygirl after. we’re looking forward to you creating some amazing pics of our family this weekend!
to be inspired is a true gift. it is wonderful how one’s words can lift our soul, isn’t it?
oh… and i must say that couch is stunning!

Great idea, as i too read your blog (and check daily!) I know, see how a stay at home mom spends her time…its not all Bon-bons and soap operas you know.

My little thing about the name Eleanor is it reminds me of the coveted Mustang from Gone in 60 seconds. My very first “cool” car that I bought myself was a bright red mustang ( Nataschia, you have photos of it from the wedding!) I love that car and was so sad to sell it.

Maybe weird…its honestly what the name reminds me of my own Eleanor!
